Home from Tour....WOW....
We are home again, poised to do a couple local shows before the end of the year and before our 2005 year plan begins...yes we never stop...but as for touring we are finished for a while...2004 was an incredible year as far as touring goes...thank you everyone...
So yes we are home from our final tour of the year, Which took place in Europe and had us experience so many things, many good, some bad, and we came home still loving what we do, inspired as well, yet tired and exhausted too....to reflect...
and as anyone who reads this page regularly knows, we always try to thank everyone who made a difference either for us or within us after each tour....this time...there were so many awesome people it was amazing...i will try my best to mention everyone...
The first 9 days of the tour took place in the UK. All of the shows were great really, a step up from our last UK tour earlier in 2004, with the Whitby Gothic Weekend event really being amazing..we saw many old friends, many made new friends and despite Stevyn being rather ill for 2 of the shows and ending up at the doctor, we made it through...Special thanks and mention to: Sabine for being our tour manager and driving us around the UK on the wrong side of the road for 9 days...The entire Goth-Chester, i mean Colchester clan who really are the most amazing UK people and hosted and took care of TLD for all of our off days, and our show, and even at other shows....Martin and Brigitte, for actually sponsoring our tour, buying lots of Chardonnay for Rick, taking care of EVERYTHING for us, Jamie and Mary, for also hosting the band, fixing Rick's guitar, the Drum set...twice, Lynn and Martin for taking care of Stevyn and being so lovely and kind to us, Caz, for being the best stalker we could possibly have...and Syd (From London) who made it to more TLD shows on this tour than anyone. A Special mention to Eldritch as well, who we think is responsible for the rubber chicken episode at Whitby...
From there Sabine went off to the US and we were joined by our lovely and silly yet professional tour manager Dolores...otherwise known to us as D. D is responsible for teaching us such words as "Scheisse" and "Schwul." Both lovely words and now regular parts of TLD vocabulary...next we went to Porto, Portugal with Sex Gang Children and had a really fun time there on our first night with a lovely dinner and club night taken care of by Toni...thank you Toni...our Porto experience was amazing. I can only describe this place as a really big Pirates of the Caribbean (from Disneyland) it was lovely and the club/festival we played was like playing in a movie. The Portuguese people were lovely and very kind and we were honored to meet you and play there. Special thanks to Mariana, Andy and Sex Gang Children, Toni, and the airport customs/immigration girl who when we were leaving took our passports, smiled and told us how sorry she was to miss the show because she had to work...a very rock star moment indeed!
From there it was on to Europe...our next show was in Rostock on a "ghost ship." It was really cool, an old East German Fishing Ship that was being converted into a club venue on water...we had a fun show, and stayed on the ship in the tiny little staterooms...in case you did not know, old East German fishermen were very small and short. the next morning after breakfast there was a fire on the ship and we were quickly told to abandon ship which we did...standing on the dock waiting we were a bit worried because all of our equipment was still on the ship but after 15 minutes the fire was put out, no one was hurt and everything was okay...Next was Frankfurt, a small show but the people there made up for it as did the opening band, Sex Should be Female...wow such nice people and so kind to us..Berlin Followed..with a really fun night playing with Twilight once again and seeing some lovely friends like Yvonne and Elke and Sandra...Jeff however got very ill here and the next morning we were once again at the doctor...After Berlin we went to this small East German City called Griefswald..not knowing what to expect we were so impressed by the people, both staff and crowd...it was an amazing night...special thanks to Fe for being so lovely and taking care of us....to give you an idea...the club staff stayed awake all night after the show so when we returned in the morning to pick up our equipment, they had breakfast there, helped us load everything out...it was definitely hard to leave...lovely people there...
Next was Bochum, one of our favorite places in Germany to play...at Zwischenfall...and once again it was an incredible show and night. The people were amazing, Bloody Dead and Sexy came down as well and their singer joined us on stage for our Stooges cover song...Heavy Current opened the night and they were great..it was cool to meet them in person after they had already done a remix that is part of our new CD...and then there is the lovely Micky, whom we became friends with last year and who will appear on our merch page soon... she did a photo with Rick modeling our TLD Baby-Doll Shirt...and more..
After Bochum there where 3 days off....our friend Yvonne, whom we met last year in Bochum invited us to spend our off days with her and her family at there home in Werl, and it was amazing. Their family was so kind, took such care of us..better then any hotel we have ever stayed at definitely. We got our own private Cirque show (like Cirque du Soleil) twice...once at a party at Yvonne's house...yes they have a Trapezze in their house...awesome! and then also at their Cirque practice facility...where TLD got to play with all the cirque toys and feel really silly and un-talented...it was so much fun...unicycles, spinning plates, etc..Then it was Rick's turn to get sick, and after 2 days of being in bed and a show to play had to go to the doctor as well...so that was 3 out of 4 of TLD that ended up at the doctor...only Peter made it through well...
So then it was on to Schweinfurt, we decided to kidnap Yvonne and take her with us for the rest of the tour...thank you Yvonne!!! special thanks to this girl for taking care of us, putting up with us, giving us the cirque experience, eating Rick's mushrooms (Italian story), fixing Rick's hair...very important...and coming on tour with us...a lovely experience...In Schweinfurt we got to experience German snow, that means really cold, and had a crazy night with goths and US Military people stationed there...thanks to Doris for having us and for the presents for The Last Children!
Italy was next, but our first show got canceled, so we never made it to Florence....so we went to Milan a day early and saw the Cathedral and that was amazing. The show was cool as well, seeing some special friends we had met before like Alex, Kia, Elisa, Julie and Stefania...Italy was different this time, but there are some lovely people there that are very special to TLD...Kia was especially great taking care of us...because Rome was crazy, and she was great to help us through it....and of course a special thanks to Patty and Mother Dance for booking and arranging our tour and making everything happen for us in Europe!
Overall it was a cool tour, Pictures will be posted soon on the photo page...thank you everyone and we appreciate and miss all of you. after some local shows here we are going back into the studio for the first 6 months of 2005 so we will not be touring so much but we hope to see everyone again later in the year when we once again, welcome you to The Last Dance.

OCT 20, 2004 - Thank you Mexico...again
First off Thank you everyone in Mexico City who made our show there on the 16th of Oct so amazing...Yolanda, Raul, Luis and the UTA group were simply amazing to us and the fans who came out to see and support us were the best really. It was the first time in the history of TLD live shows we heard on stage the crowd singing our songs louder than we were even playing them...it was a special show indeed....thank you everyone. Also lovely were the support band from Oakland, Death of a Party...we had lots of fun with them and they definitely rocked live...it was a pleasure to share the stage with these crazy and lovely people. Mexico, thank you and we will see you again soon, definitely.

AUG 19th, 2004 - UNFORTUNATE ANNOUNCEMENT...
The Last Dance feel it is our obligation to other artists and bands who tour the US to know that we had problems in South Carolina while on this last tour. To spare the details TLD was shorted money and not given what we were contractually supposed to receive in one city, and left with no dinner and no where to stay in another city, which was promised, both in SC. We took a serious financial hit because of both of these occurences and therefore we at this point are leery of playing South Carolina again anytime in the near future. This is no reflection on the fans and we do appreciate you very much, but we must use wisdom when planning tours and cannot go places where we are treated in such a way. To those bands and artists that wish to know, the promoter who did not pay us what was promised contractually is Jake, in Columbia, and the show was at the New Brooklyn Tavern. As for the other show where we were left with no place to stay or dinner which was promised, that was in Charleston. In fairness and understanding we gave 1 month for him to fullfill his obligation to us after the show took place, July 18th..but after promises and no response we now must let others know. Take from this what you will, to our friends and fellow artists just be aware and use your own best judgment when considering playing there.

First off, we are home from a really fun, with only a few exceptions, US Tour..Thank you to all the promoters who treated us well and to all of you who came out to support us..It was also lots of fun doing some shows with Bella Morte as well...gotta love those Virginia Boys..
For those of you wondering, TLD will not be playing Dragoncon this year, they have officially let us know as of today so we are a bit disappointed but will see our lovely friends in Atlanta again soon..Also because of immigration issues, and we know all about those...we have cancelled / postponed our Australian Tour that was to take place in September/October. If any of you happen to work in the immigration office in Sydney do let us know..but we will try again in 2005. Our next show is Aug 28th, at the Nightmare Before Bats Day, it is sure to be a fun night and we are looking forward to it lots...
Also, work is almost completed on our remix CD entitled Reflections of Rage...release date to be announced by Dancing Ferret Discs soon, so watch for it...it has some really cool mixes from some awesome people/bands..

On Tour Update...
Greetings All!!! Thanks to this fancy new Laptop Peter bought we are now able to update our website while on tour.....fun fun fun....okay it is friday night here in London, the last day off on our first tour break which followed a very crazy 5 shows in a row to start the tour. We arrived in London last thursday, on the 8th, and began driving to Bury for our first show, supporting All About Eve. The traffic was so bad however that we arrived at the show 5 minutes after we were supposed to be playing...All About Eve was great, they had all their equipment ready to go for us, helped us load in and sort everything out, even handed us drinks because they figured we would need it...and we basically set up and started playing, wearing the same clothes as we wore on the plane, etc...it was a really crazy and fun experience. As for the rest of the shows so far all have had their moments and been cool, thanks to all the promoters and bands who have been part of those shows, Bella Morte, Devilish Presley, The Last Days of Jesus, and of course All About Eve. Over our last few days off we did some really exciting things while hanging out here in London, like laundry and email. Of course we went out to a few pubs, clubs, and Peter and Stevyn even spent two days in the recording studio recording as guest musicians on Steve Carey's new Project which is sure to be awesome once completed. Okay tomorrow is Colchester, we are looking forward to that show and the rest of the tour, miss home a little bit, the nice Cali Weather, family, etc...but happy to hear the Lakers beat out Sacto going into the playoffs...(Cheers Tom!!!)....more soon everyone...thanks to all the fans here in the UK who have come out to our shows so far!!
